SeedMaster’s 160 Acres of Gold Giveaway Winner Announced

07 Feb, 2023

[Emerald Park, Sask.]—A central Alberta farmer has hit the jackpot this year as the winner of SeedMaster’s 160 Acres of Gold Giveaway. SeedMaster received over 1,000 entries from the western prairie provinces throughout the contest period, which kicked off November 9, 2022, at Agri-Trade Equipment Expo.

On January 26, Ken Krywko of Sturgeon County was announced as the contest winner on RealAg Radio. Krywko farms with his two of his sons, Dan and Brad, on their fourth-generation family farm, growing 3,300 acres of crops including oilseeds, cereals, wheat and barley.

For the 2023 crop year, Krywko will receive InVigor® hybrid canola seed and custom application of crop protection products from BASF, ESN® Environmentally Smart Nitrogen fertilizer from Nutrien, as well as precision agronomic services from Decisive Farming by TELUS Agriculture, seasonal use of a Crop Intelligence weather station, use of SeedMaster’s revolutionary Ultra SR drill, and assistance with harvest for a quarter section of land.

“I was caught off guard by winning the contest,” says Krywko. “I’m very excited about working with SeedMaster—you’re always learning as a producer, so I’m looking forward to learning through this experience about how to grow a crop with SeedMaster.”

This will be Krywko’s first experience with SeedMaster equipment. SeedMaster Martin Deerline dealer—which Krywko says he’s been purchasing equipment from for around 25 years—will coordinate with Krywko for the use of the Ultra SR drill to seed his 160 acres of gold.

SeedMaster is dedicated to understanding and providing solutions for the challenges canola growers face. The 160 Acres of Gold Giveaway was an opportunity for the SeedMaster team to make a bold statement about the premium performance of the Ultra SR in canola and showcase their reputation as the CanolaMaster.
