Emerald Park, Sask. (October 29, 2024) –SeedMaster, the developer and manufacturer of direct seeding solutions driven by precision, has announced the addition of Michael Hoffort to its board of directors. 

Michael Hoffort is an accomplished agriculture industry leader, spending his 35-year career at Farm Credit Canada and becoming its President/CEO and full board member for eight years until 2022. He also holds a designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has served on numerous boards such as STARS Air Ambulance and Special Olympics Saskatchewan. He is also a member of the senate at the University of Regina, representing the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. 

“I am excited to serve as a member of the board of directors of SeedMaster, a true prairie success story,” said Hoffort. “SeedMaster’s precision seeding technology contributes to improved farm production, profitability and sustainability through enhanced soil health. With a goal of continuous growth and advancement of its product line, I look forward to contributing in any way possible to SeedMaster’s success and the farmers they serve.” 

SeedMaster was founded in 1991 by industry innovator Norbert Beaujot. The company welcomed its first board of directors in 2020. The current board of directors includes Beaujot, Board Chair Larry Hilworth, Ryan Beaujot, Cory Beaujot, Bob Dumur and Greg Andrukow. 

“Michael Hoffort brings tremendous knowledge, expertise and experience to our board,” said Hilworth. “He was at the helm of FCC driving transformational change and bringing the organization into the future. We are fortunate to have his vision and leadership as we continue to guide the growth trajectory of SeedMaster.”  

Hoffort will be taking the seat previously held by Alanna Koch, who is stepping down. 

“We wish Alanna Koch well as she retires from the board,” said Hilworth. “We thank her for her contributions as one of our first ever board members.”
