ADVANCING THE PRECISION OF EVERY FARM WE TOUCH

In 1991, SeedMaster president and founder, Norbert Beaujot set out to find a better way to seed all crops, including canola, without tilling the land. This led to the development of the first opener and one-pass seed and fertilizer placement. It was all based around sound agronomics, accurate seed placement achieving optimal stand establishment.

Fast forward to 2002 when SeedMaster’s first manufacturing plant was opened with new designs for an opener, frame and Smart Hitch. At this time, we also re-introduced the simplified version of our frame-mounted metering tanks. Between 2004 and 2007 we opened our first production facility, added 15,000 square feet to our manufacturing facility, developed the largest toolbar in North America as well as packing force sensor technology for drills.

2008 saw the release of North America’s first 90-foot seeding system, the M90, while we also developed narrow-fold technology for easier drill transport, rolled out liquid fertilizer cart systems and developed our row metering system technology. The following year saw the release of Lift Kit™ technology, and the development of auto-adjust Packing Force Sensor™.

The start of a new decade in 2010 brought about the UltraPro™ canola meter, followed by Auto Zone Command™ overlap control technology and the 820-bushel “Smart Cart” (Nova™ XP) with auto-lids, 10 zones, high rates, isolated air dual shoot, and weigh-scale enhanced metering technology in 2011.

The following three years included the release of North America’s first 100-foot seeding system, the M100, standardized auto calibration (SmartCal™), Smart Openers™ and Auto Lift™.

In 2015, Norbert established DOT Technology, a new company that worked jointly with SeedMaster to develop an Autonomous Power Unit between 2015 and 2019. The unit included attachments for direct seeding, fertilizer spreading, spraying, and a grain cart. The technology was then sold to Raven Industries in 2019, at which point SeedMaster refocused on precision direct seeding solutions.

Following the sale of DOT Technology, we introduced the Ultra SR in 2020. This was the first single-rank precision seeding tool on the market.

As we continue the trend of innovation we kicked off more than 30 years ago, we have further expanded our manufacturing facility and introduced new products including the E Series air cart and the SMS Single Knife Toolbar, both of which will be available for commercial purchase in 2025.

Our ongoing growth and signature precision in direct seeding solutions sets us apart as the seeding specialists in broadacre agriculture.
